Jay Boy Adams is a singer, songwriter, and producer who began playing music in his early teens. Jay was one of the hardest-working acts on the American tour circuit in the late 1970s following the release of his self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records in 1977. Spending some 200 to 250 days a year on the road, he shared concert bills with ZZ Top, The Allman Brothers Band, Joe Cocker, Jackson Browne, Marshall Tucker Band, Bonnie Raitt, The Kinks, and many others.
Jay left the stage in the early 1980s and founded Roadhouse Transportation, creating custom touring coaches he leases to musicians. During this time, he mentored and managed Texas musician Pat Green. Fifteen years after leaving the stage, country star Lee Roy Parnell invited Adams to join him onstage at a show in 1997, and his songwriting muse and love for playing guitar and performing returned. Jay Boy Adams returned to music, releasing albums and performing live.
Jay By Adams was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in 2014.
