Barry Corbin (b. 1940) is a movie, television, and Broadway star from Lamesa, TX.
Throughout his childhood, Corbin organized neighborhood plays. While attending Monterey High School, he constantly participated in school plays and musicals, before going on to study theater at Texas Tech in the late 1950s. During this time, he cultivated a lifelong friendship with fellow Walk of Famer, G.W. Bailey. Officially beginning his professional career in the 1960s as a Shakespearean actor, Corbin would go on to star in countless films and television shows. Two of his films include Urban Cowboy (1980) and No Country for Old Men (2007), which earned several Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Some of his other notable performances are on TV shows such as Dallas (1979-1984) as Sheriff Fenton Washburn, One Tree Hill (2003-2009) as Clay Johnson, Better Call Saul (2020) as Everett Acker, and Yellowstone (2021) as Ross. Corbin continues to act, his most recent works are Tulsa Kind (2022) as Babe, and Killers of The Flower Moon (2023), which has garnered impressive critical acclaim.
Barry Corbin was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in 1985.
