Glenna Maxey Goodacre (1939-2020) was a sculptor and artist from Lubbock, Texas.
Goodacre is a graduate of Texas Tech University, the National Academy of Design, and a fellow of the National Sculpture Society. She has created over 600 sculptures and other works. In 1993, she designed the Vietnam Women’s Memorial (National Mall, Washington, D.C.) which continues to be her most well-known piece. Goodacre also designed the Irish Memorial (Philadelphia) in 2002, the Native American $1 Sacagawea coin, and two statues of former president Ronald Reagan (1998), displayed at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and the Reagan Presidential Library. In 2003, Goodacre won the Texas Medal of Arts and was inducted into the Ft. Worth Cowgirl Hall of Fame. In 2014, she received the Legacy Award from The Texas Tech University Museum Association. The following year, the Smithsonian National Numismatic Collection exhibited 4 of her works at the American History Museum in DC.
Glenna Maxey Goodacre was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in 1997.
