Josh Abbott was raised in Idalou, Texas. He attended South Plains College and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Communications in 2005. Josh began writing songs in 2004 but picked up the guitar a few years earlier to strum with his favorite Pat Green songs. In 2006, while pursuing his Masters at Texas Tech, he formed the Josh Abbott Band. 2007, the first demo, “Taste,” was recorded, and he and his band began touring around Texas in 2008. A decade later, with millions of records sold, success on the regional and national charts, and six albums to his credit, lead singer/acoustic guitarist Josh Abbott has become one of the biggest household names in Texas country. 2011, the Josh Abbott Band won Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, and Video of the Year at the Texas Regional Music Radio Awards. The 2015 album Front Row Seat debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Independent Albums Chart following its release. While he tours extensively in Texas, he has also performed in venues on the West Coast and New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, and Illinois.
